A couple of rough scaled non-venomous snakes that come to mind are

- the South American Eyelash Boa (Trachyboa boulengeri)

- the South Pacific Rough-scaled Boa (Candoia asper)



Neither is a spiny as some of the Atheris, but they are still pretty rough!
