from the pictures I would guess he is last years hatch. but cant be sure. I would get a fecal done. nothing particular comes to mind to ask. What are the baths for? Too much interaction too soon is just stressful. My feeling from what I read is that you're handling too soon and in the long run they will tame faster if your more patient and let him settle in let him get used to you being in his space.
