The truth...you can't handle the truth.
It's all about Big Brother saving us from ourselves.
Society deems it necessary and appropriate to save, ensure, and otherwise underwrite the guaranteed success of individuals that would otherwise perish. If you believe in the theory of Evolution, and I do, it's obvious these exercises in social engineering do nothing but dilute and diminish the the efficacy of our group intelligence. Disfunctional persons become a greater and greater proportion in Society.
The same goes with humanity's overall health and physiological character, where all lives are saved, at extraordinary measures, regardless of quality of life. Where "Conservatives" aren't conservative at all, just misguided ideologues. But that's another story.
