Once a female ovulates (often a week or two before), the males will typically lose all interest. Females often get thicker looking as the ova mature. Sometimes folks miss-call the thickness as gravid, pull the males too early, then the female is more likely to fail to ovulate, or slug out. [ Hide Replies ]
