Steve Hammond has found a way to produce these very clean, low speckled arabesques. They also seem to have an orangish/yellowish color to them and are extremely beautiful. To be honest, I have no idea how he first produced them. It may have been several years of selective breeding that cleaned them up. I don't have a clue. But that may have been what you saw.
