Yes, we have a couple of those in use too and they seem to work fine. My biggest fear with any water heater is the chance for overheating even with thermostats - so many prized animals have been fried from these devices malfunctioning. A friend of mine in Texas who keeps a number of fly river turtles told me about a simple solution: He places undertank reptile heaters to the bottom of the tanks from underneath and then hooks them up to old fashioned rheostats. He claims he can reach any desired temp needed w/out the worry of overheating. I might give it a try.
