I tried to cover everything, including caution, but you put it in better words as far as the fact that they are, and always will be, animals. Even if they are amazing, beautiful, and fairly intelligent amongst snakes, that is only amongst snakes They get to know their keeper and feel comfortable, but the loyalty and level of intelligence that one would find in a dog is definitely not present. On the other hand, it means a boa needs less loving/attention to thrive and be healthy. My dog won't let me walk by without a petting!
