Mouth Rot treatment??

My 8 year old JCP contracted a mouth swore and from the looks of it, its mouth rot. My problem is how to cure her with the least amount of stress to her. She is mean and has always been mean and I would prefer not to use the grab and hold method and since this needs to be done daily I wonder if there is a simple solution other then to grab her??

What has worked in the past for me was Listerine I know it burns but it worked before any other recommended treatments as well?

She is still feeding as I caught the problem early "environmental=low temps" since it was the only thing that has changed.
