cloudy eyes help

hello everyone i have a 2 an half year old little over 3 feet American alligator, that is in a self built cage with a self built pond, the pond has a filter on it an gets changed often. just the other day i noticed that his eyes looked cloudy.(an it was not his horizontal eyelid)i was wondering if i should use anti bactria meds in his water that i have at a fish store i work at, an if it doesnt get better take him to my vet. Or should i skip the meds an go straight to the vet? any info would help



PS it wont let me get rid of the picture of my cobalt for some reason
