I live in Las Vegas Nv. What I use is newspaper for the whole cage. (I have vision cages) Then in the middle of the cage I use Care Fresh. ( newspaper pulp). that really helps out with the humidity. I have no problem keeping a 70% to 80%in my cages. thats what I do. By the way I am posting for the first time on the form, I have had my snakes for 4 yrs. By the way with the cages I cover up 75% of the air vents with plastic. sorry for so long but I feel that if you get more then one opinion that will help you deside what works for you. hope this helps.
