Well, it's taken me a few weeks to get around to posting these but with the holidays and all...
Anyway, I had two clutches of subocs hatch in November. The first pair was a "greenish" blonde female x axanthic blonde male. She laid 11 eggs (all good) on 9/11. On 11/26 the eggs started to hatch. They all hatched but it took until 12/3 for the final baby to emerge. All are heathly and beautiful. Some neat patterns. The male of the pair has some lines and stippling on the anterior part of the body so I expected to see some interesting marks.
The second pair was a female normal, het for blonde x male blonde. The female is the one in Dusty's book that laid the 16 eggs. On 9/14 she laid one egg, then on 9/18 she laid 12 good eggs and one infertile. All 13 good eggs hatched, including the one laid 4 days early, curiously enough. Of the 13, 6 are normal and 7 are blonde. Again, some really neat patterns and colors.
All 24 eggs were incubated in the same incubator at about 82 degrees. On a few occasions when I was going out of town for the weekend, I unplugged the unit to avoid the possibility of overheating. According to the thermometer the lowest it got was 70 degrees.
Enjoy the photos. You can see some neat patterns. One of the babies from the "greenish" blonde female is even a very pale color, almost grayish compared to the others. He's in the photos but it's hard to really capture his color. The others are greenish, tannish, a sort of goldish color. Really nice.
Take care.
