Rescues are the right thing to do. Especially with all the animal abandonment going on because of the foreclosure mess this country is in. And, unfortunately, you still have "people" dumping pets because of behaviour problems or they're changing decor and the animal doesn't "blend" in (especially in big trend setting cities like NY.)
