I just brought one home today from an enthusiast who, because of the economy, needed to reduce the number of reptiles in the house. Am told he's at least 1-1/2 yrs, eats red-worms, wax-worms, but doesn't seem particularly fond of crickets.
These guys seem known by a variety of names: Red-eyed Armored Skinks, Orange Eyed Crocodile Skink, Crocodile skinks, Red-Eyed Casque-headed skinks, Armored Dragon Skinks, Painted Skink, Helmeted Skink, Bush Crocodile, etc.
Can anyone point me to sights or books containing more information about these guys? They seem fairly rare in captivity and all the information I've been reviewing is contradictory.
Thank you in advance.
