A super hypo is homogenous for hypo, meaning two hypo genes (one from each parent). They do tend to have less black pigment on the tails and their saddles more narrow. Because it is difficult to tell whether a hypo is super or just hypo, many breeders sell them as "possible supers". If it is in fact a super hypo then you can breed it to any normal and you will get all hypo babies. But if it is a regular hypo then half of the offspring will be hypos and half of the babies will be normals. The only real way to tell whether it is a super hypo is if the parents are also supers or if you prove them out by breeding them. [ Hide Replies ]
