Ok back to this little discussion about Axanthic Boas and how its related to no yellow I said no red either.

Here are the different Chromatophores pigment cells found in amphibians, fish, reptiles, crustaceans, and cephalopods

I know why I made this statement now Axanthic boas having no yellow and no red. Because in poikilothermic vertebrates(reptiles in this case Boas)Xanthophores are the chromatophores responsible for yellow, red, and yellow-red intermediate coloration in poikilotherms. Xanthophores contain more than one pigment, including pteridines, and carotenoids. So my conclusion/guess would be that if yellow was not present or occurring red would not occur either because the same chromatophores are responsible for both colors.

Any ideas from smarter people than me. Somebody who really

understands this stuff.
