I've seen one, and the quality of melamine used is very good, way better than anything found at DIY stores. I would say you'll get 10 plus years out of it easily if not more.
If you want to extend the life even more, simply lay down some plain old adhesive shelf liner on the cage floor and up the sides for a few inches. This liner is easily replaced if damaged, is inexpensive and helps improve mositure resistance. ----- Mark
