Posted by: mpollard at Tue Feb 3 21:09:29 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by mpollard ] You may have already tried this, but I have had some success in getting "hard to handle" animals to calm down and at least tolerate handling by keeping them housed with other animals for extended periods. I like to keep males and females apart unless attempting breeding, so I'd put a such an animal in a large cage with a larger female, except when feeding of course. Something about having another non-threatening animal moving around and crawling over them for extended periods seems to make them more accepting of being touched and held...sometimes...
