RE: Percentages of a male breeding 2 females

I used to think that it was best to breed 1 male to 1 female and no more.

Now, I think it's possible for 1 male to breed 2 females with no problem. As long as the male finishes up the first one early in the season.

I had 1 male breed 2 females in 2007. I got 2 perfect litters from them in 2008.

I have another male that bred to 2 females in the 2008 breeding season. Both of those girls are currently pregnant. This was a young male and his first time breeding. His first female is due on Feb 15th. His second female is due on April 9th.

So, I believe that 1 male can successfully breed 2 females. I just wouldn't put a male in with 2 females at the same time.
