the repti rugs at the pet store are a total scam, for about 5 bucks you can get a twelve foot piece of indoor outdoor carpet (the same stuff the repti rugs are made out of) at home depot or lowes (plus it comes in different colors). you can cut it to size and have several pieces that you can just swap out when you need to clean your cage. these can also be tossed in the washer (and don't bother putting it in the dryer, water pretty much goes right through this stuff, it is almost dry to the touch after the spin cycle). plus it looks much nicer than newspaper or old towels. I've been using it for about a year now on my 3 snakes, and wont ever go back to aspen, carefresh, or anything else.
