If you frequent a deli or another place that sells newspapers and are a "known" or perhaps "unknown" (depends on person operating the business) customer you can ask them for the newspapers they didn't sell.
In order for most places to get a credit they only cut a small portion of the front page to give back to their suppliers as proof of credit.
Offer to come pick them up before they usually tie them up for the trash, saves them time as well. Most keep them to certain amount pile up and then discard them.
I do this and always have enough clean free substrate to go around. I even prefer the NY Daily News because it lines 2221's perfectly LOL!!!! ----- Thanks,
