Congratulations but good luck trying to get him OFF of ASF now that he's started so I hope you have a good supply of them! lol
The hunger strike is nothing to worry about and is VERY common. Try having a female go off feed for 8 1/2 months and try not to get stressed about it. She even shed 3 times so obviously she was growing.

Basically my answer to "it hasn't eaten in 2 months!" is "welcome to balls!"
