Probably doesn't make all that much difference. If it's _too_ cold, I suppose it might trigger a brief reaction from your thermostat, but in a typical water bowl, it's going to warm up pretty quickly.



I suppose if you wanted to temporarily increase humidity, you could put it in just a little warmer than lukewarm - wouldn't go all the way to "hot", though!
