It depends on how big your female is. If she's under 1500 grams and two years of age...she's not ready to be bred this year at all.
You can certainly buy a male at the show, but I don't recommend breeding or putting him in with the female this season at all. By the time he is out of quarantine (should be at least a month, 3 months is better to ensure he is eating well, doesn't have any health concerns (ie internal or external parasites, other diseases which may take longer to manifest), the breeding season will be over for the most part. ----- PHLdyPayne
