obviously you've never been caged with strange females ... I'd want some variety LOL.
Actually though I haven't paired a male with more than 2 females, just because I don't want to chance infertility and so far aren't that skilled at knowing when a particular hognose is ovulating. But as for safety of the animals, I don't know that it matters if a male is trying to breed the same female all summer long or if he's getting at a few, as long as there's rest in between. Right?
I'm guessing it will depend on the precision of the breeder's methods. Mine so far are basically, close the lid and let them do their thing
