A couple of months ago i posted a few frantic questions about my bearded's abscess and the process i went through to drain it. Long story short, the tissue around the abscess became necrotic and i was afraid that i would lose my 8 year companion.

This is just a note to let everyone know that she has recovered almost completely. I did not end up getting her to a vet (which i strongly urge people to do when issues such as this arise) because soon after everything went south with her, i lost my job.

I did end up doing hydro thearapy on her leg for about 3 days to remove the dead tissue. I also kept her tank extremely sterile, cleaned the wounds with diluted chlorahexadine and kept them very clean and dry. Her temps were upped on her hot end by 5-8 degrees, and i fed her an antibacterial food dust by jungle products for 3 weeks.

I was fortunate, because throughout the whole ordeal she continued to eat.
Now, she is almost back to her old self. I am fortunate that what i did for her was enough to keep her going. In no way am i trying to condone 'home cures'...this is just an update. If i had had the time and the money i would have been at the vet's office with her almost immediately.
I just wanted to thank those who offered up what advice they could in the situation that i was in. Indie and i both thank you!
