I did a couple of google searches, maybe this will help (?)
When searching on google, or most of the Inktomi programming based search engines, if you put quotation marks around specific phrases, then only pages with those specific phrases come up. For examples, a search for "Liability Insurance" "public presentations" will bring up all sites that have EITHER of those two exact phrases.
If you search for "Liability Insurance" "public presentations" then the results are only for pages which have BOTH of those phrases, but pages lacking BOTH of those two exact phrases will Not come up
Additionally, you may want to think of a word to substitute 'presentations' with, that might be relevant to what you are going to do, such as 'performers' or 'speakers'.
Use the sign to include any words which you would also want in the search results, for example: "Liability Insurance" "public presentations" Florida (If, for example, you reside in Florida, and were looking for a Florida based company)
Use the minus sign to exclude words you do not want in the search results. For example, if you find a lot of results which contain eBay (hay, it could happen if you were doing a search for something else) then your search strand command would be: "Liability Insurance" "public presentations" -ebay
***put a space between individual words or when you go from a to a - . Some search engines are a little more sensitive than others.
If you were looking for information on something, and kept running into shopping sites, one of the most useful tricks is to: -cart -basket -buy (as if to delete 'add to cart', 'add to basket', 'buy (it now)'.
By utilizing these handy search tips, hopefully you'll acquire the search results you were actually looking for and save yourself tens of thousands of wasted online hours. hope this helps. dave
