Shed close to birth?

is it possible for a female to shed close to when she's going to give birth? in a previous post from me I mentioned that I don't really know when my female will give birth because I never saw her POS, she has had the "flat tire effect" for a long time now and today I noticed some shed in her cage. It's stiff so I'm guessing that she has been laying on it this whole time. But is it "normal" for them to shed multiple times after the POS? Oh, and as far as the waxy stool, does anyone have pictures of something like that they could post? the other day I found some out of the ordinary poop in her cage, it was almost black and it looked like smooth plastic rather than what it normally looks like. anyway, thanks in advance.
