Detach & Re-attach UTH?

Hello,



I have two Zoomed undertank heaters attached to a smaller 20gal, and am upgrading to a larger cage. Can I detach the UTH's from the old tank, and reattach them to the new tank? If the adhesive doesn't work anymore, can I attach it to the glass of the new one with electrical tape? Or, will the heating elements break?
