In my experience with the ZooMed UTHs they stick pretty well the second (or even third) time around. Just use isopropyl alcohol (or similar prep agent) to clean the area you're going to place the heater on and you should get a good stick. But if you're not getting as good a stick as you like either Duct Tape (as the previous poster suggested) or Gorilla Tape (my new favorite, although more expensive) should serve you well even if they get a little messy.
