I'm thinking you could be right his body is using every last bit

of nutrition from the food item. He's playing catchup so to speak with nutrition.

Eventually he should start to defecate on a more regular basis.

make sure he always has nice fresh water and at least 60% humidity,

ambient and cool end about 82*-84* hot end 92*-94* hot spot even up to 98*

A water soak every couple weeks can't hurt until he defecates
