A quick substrate question

Hi all. I was hoping some of you could suggest an appropriate sand substrate to use that I could buy in large, less expensive quantities than Repti-Sand. Repti Sand is great, but it is too costly if you buy much at all. I hear different things about play sand, so I am turning to the experts!
