Yes...
But are they THAT different? Mr. Ernie Wagner originally owned the first Piebald Ball Python (back in 1995) and bred it for a couple of years then sold it. It soon ended up with Mr. Pete Kahl and he bred it to his stock to develop the "Kahl Line." There were very few "Wagner" animals distributed but the people that got them said that they thought the "Wagner" stuff fed better through the 600-900 gram "lull" area that usually hangs up on "Kahl" animals.
Personally, I have not witnessed this myself. All of our Piebals stock is "Kahl" line and some friends of mine work with some "Wagner" line animals but we both seem to have the same luck. Aside from them being finicky like Ball Pythons are... we have not witnessed any difference between the "lines." We both work with Pieds, 100% Hets, 50% Poss Hets and 66% Poss Hets.
Perhaps there have been "new lines" brought over from Africa but We haven't seen too much of that and I think they would be compatible. Just remember the "Pied signs"... warped pattern (double lined striping) and the dirty chin thing. There have been some impressive "ringers/bullseyes" that have been passed off as Pieds... they are not.
Hope this helped clear a little confusion and not create more
