I've heard of suspected natural alternaXtriangulum hybrids being found, but as far as I'm aware, all have been found to be aberrant members of one species or the other. It's hard to rule out the possibility of such an happening, though, since the two species are so closely allied.
Regardless, Nate's post was glorious.
