slugs. So, my Hypo Arabesque just dropped her litter on friday nite. She was bred by my VPI T pos. 15 slugs and 3 premies. One i'm sure was a Hypo Arabesque as it had the head pattern circle but he looked more premie than the other two which made me think. This girl i'm pretty sure shot at two different times cause I have pix of an obvious ovulation one one day, then she got smaller and 2 days later got really big again. So,it made sense that the Hypo Aras pattern wasn't as strong as the other two if he came from the side that shot 2 days later. I may be wrong but at this point it makes sense to me. That one was also the one that died first. The other two were one obvious Arabesque that could've been a Hypo Besque with a really nice pattern as it didn't have obvious black outlines in the upper tail saddles like the normal did. That one and the Normal had full patterns. The normal passed and hour and a half later and the Arabesque/Hypo Besque two hours after that. It sucked but i've been getting myself ready for disapointment so it wasn't that bad. I think the thing that killed me the most was watching her nudge the babies and slugs and them not responding. Very heartbreaking to say the least. Anyways, she's doing very well and ate a medium the day after and will get another one tonite as she's still looking at me for more. I took pix but they didn't turn out well do to me not remembering to adjust the lighting so I won't bother posting them. This was my first litter ever so it kinda stings a bit still. Goodluck and healthy litters to everyone this year. Another weird thing is,I had weird boa dreams all that night.
Atleast I can say I finally had a litter and eventhough it sucked I still learned from it and got to deal with a few babies while they lived and the dreaded ANGRY MOMMA! LoL I do have to give BIG Thanks to Eddie Kim who came right over to help me in my time of need. He brought me gloves and a hook to help me deal with Momma as I don't have either like a dummy. The funny thing is once he got here I was able to just gently pick her up using a sterilite cover to block her head from my body parts! I guess just having him there for back up and support was what I needed so,Thank you very much Eddie. I do need to invest in some gloves and hooks though cause the other gravid females are all bigger then this girl. I have another litter due in 7 days and another 2 days after that so we'll see how those go. Then I get a month off and have a few due mid to early June. Hopefully i'll get to play with some babies soon.
Thanks for reading and the best of luck to those expecting litters and those who still have Boas breeding this season.
