This isn't the first piece of legislation of this type that she's tried to get through. My opinion is that she's trying to get national attention for her brown tree snake problem. Same flavor as the folks in Florida with the Burms, but I think she has actually been at it longer. They can't resolve their own problems, so they try to take them national. I suppose they are thinking if they can't get federal laws passed, if they make enough of a stink about it, maybe they'll get some federal money down the road... Politics...its all politics... Science and reason have little (nothing) to do with justification for their actions. They are trying to advance their own and special interest's agendas, and the other representatives supporting her are probably dong so to earn a political favor, i.e. her support on one of their pet projects... But that's just my opinion, and probably overpriced at $.02. | ||
