I posted this excerpt from a paper that Robert Reed did a few years back . Reed is one of the governments main go to guys when it comes to this stuff.

" Results of the risk-assessment models indicate that species including boa constrictors (Boa constrictor), ball pythons (Python regius) and reticulated pythons (P. reticulatus) may pose particularly high risks as potentially invasive species."

Everyone's talking about Burmese pythons and Nelson but burms are just to get peoples attention and Nelson is a slick politician who knows an opportunity when he sees one.

The people that want to shut the reptile world down know the best way to do it is to hit us where it hurts the most. They will go for the throat on key species. They have gone after ball pythons in the fairly recent past and they will in the future if necessary. It's business disguised as science, Publc safety, environmental protection .The Humane Society and Peta aren't groups their huge corporations. They got that way by being smart. I think they have a few more tricks up their sleeve. What's happening now might only be the ground work for the next wave.
