Personally I think if one of the big chains received 10`000 letters from irate reptile owners threatening a boycott they would file them in the industrial paper shredder.

Even Peta can't put a dent in Petco's business but they are relentless and their high profile media campaigns make places look bad. No company wants bad publicity. The big chains don't want anything to do with Peta or any other activist organization but they know that's the cost of doing business. They pay to shut them up. Usually those payments come in the form of mutual agreements that help the company and the activist.

Anti ownership legislation provides a great opportunity for this symbiotic relationship. They already have it planned out now it's just waiting to see if their plan can work . I think if they take one more foreword step the reptile trade as we know it is in for some big changes.
