All,

They got screwed. At least those that stood up against this did. Those that did nothing deserve this. How many pet stores are in the state? How many herpers are in the state? I never saw a post of who to write to oppose this. I never saw anyone from CT stepping up. People posted about it but know one had an attack plan.

It is obvious they had some academic help with this from the list of scientific names. This is typical knee jerk animal rights agenda pushed by AR groups, academics, zoos and other folks who think they have the power to take someone else rights away. I thought we lived in a free country - not!

This shows that if you sit on your butt and do nothing your rights will be stripped from you. This also shows that we will lose the public opinion battle. We must fight every single regulation proposed. Every single one. In every single state. In every single city. We have to all be on the same page and on the same team. We must go NRA on them. I am sure there were some herpers who don't keep those species that sat on thier lazy hineys and did nothing. Or the wanna be herpetologist grad student who keeps turtles but supports BS like this. People who sell out the industry in anyway are the enemy. I am sick of brown nosing hobbyists herpers who sell out the industry by supporting AR academic banning agenda. Just because someone keeps or likes herps doesn't mean they are our friend. If they buy into any of these arbitrary, banning, knee jerk, and feel good regs they are the enemy.

I so hope that USARK can build from this HR 669 situation. We need activists in every state fighting this BS. We need to modify, change, improve and repeal regs in every state. We have a lot of work to do. A lot! Why do we have so much work to do? Because we sat on our butts for so many years. We "helped" them screw us. This kind of crap pisses me off.
