Herping in Mississippi

Hello!

I live in eastern Mississippi, in a town called meridian.

I am hoping to do some good herping around here.

Can anyone help me get started? I am particularly interested in finding Kingsnakes, Scarlet Kingsnakes, and Hognose snakes.

Am I in the right part of the south to find these guys? I have been flipping tin, and cruising the roads after sunset. Is it too early in the season?

If anyone knows some good areas nearby, any help would be appreciated.
