I'm willing to bet that there is not enough room in a 30 gallon tank for a plant massive enough to resist the constant digging and uprooting that your hogs will busily set to work at as soon as you introduce them....If I were wanting to set up a planted vivarium, I'd choose a non-burrower such as a rough green or garter snake....

As a Bonsai keeper myself, I don't think that most bonsai will do well under conditions conducive to your snakes....
