Mine love dry food. I feed them very little of it or thats all they will eat. They also like a little dog food I give for treats. Not much just a little. They will follow you all over the yard for some.
I think you just need to back off of it for awhile and only feed once in awhile. It works good if you go one vacation for a few days etc... or if you don't have any fresh food available.
I think its good to teach them to eat it, but not everyday.

Just my 2 cents.
