I have had an anaconda go into a false shed.(they spend 90% of their time in the water) They go into the blue just like any other shed, clear up and no shed. What happens here is that the thin layer of liquid between the old and new skin dries up for no reason. The old skin stays and is stuck like glue! No amount of soaking can remove it. The best thing to do is keep him a little on the humid side. Keep the skin from drying out completely. Only deal with him to do routine care. Let his stress level come down. Give him a week or so before feeding. If he starts eating again, feed him twice a week to push him into another shed cycle. He may even enter another shed cycle in a short time on his own. This is what I ran into, maybe this will help. Good luck. Rich [ Hide Replies ]
