Paul,

I'll PM you my address so you can send me a tax refund. I have nothing against government scientists. I have plenty against *dishonest* government scientists, especially those that are trying to take away our pets.

Great find! That's a neat snake. It's warming up here, I may have to take a few hours to go herping.

Thanks for sharing,
Ed

>>Thought I'd share my first encounter with a zonata (mountain king of any sort actually). I was hiking down to the Yuba River (middle fork) to collect some water samples (Ed's probably thinking "Damn government scientists, always screwing around finding snakes on my tax dollars" lol) and I knew the conditions were perfect for herps; recent rain, early May, frogs everywhere. But I was not expecting this little beauty:
>>
>>As you can see it very recently had eaten (I suspect a frog, they were plentiful).
>>Now I know this subspecies, multicincta (I guess no longer valid?), is maybe not considered that attractive but to me it was just beautiful:
>>.
>>Thanks for looking,
>>Paul
