The Mid-Atlantic Turtle & Tortoise Society is having its next meeting Saturday, May 16th, from 6-8:30PM at the Benjamin Banneker Museum in Catonsville, MD.
Featured speaker: DNR Natural Resources Police Officer discussing MD regulations regarding the keeping of native turtles in Maryland, the latest regulation changes, obtaining permits and answering questions.
The public is welcome to attend. We have a social hour before the speaker, a sales table of turtle-themed accessories, and keepers can show off their turtles. NO TURTLES UNDER 4", PLEASE, in accordance with MD health code regulations. Some of us get together in Ellicott City afterwards for desert and drinks.
All meetings are held from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at the beautiful Banneker Museum in Oella, Maryland.
Directions to Banneker:
From Baltimore: Take I-695 to exit 15 Rte 40 and go west towards Ellicott City; go 1 mile; turn left at the traffic light onto Rolling Road; at second traffic light turn right onto Old Frederick Road; go 1.3 miles and turn right onto Oella Avenue (Banneker sign on corner); go 0.2 mile to park entrance on the left.
From Washington DC: Take I-95 north towards Baltimore; take exit 49 on the left to I-695 towards Towson; take exit 13, Rte 144 (Frederick Road) west towards Catonsville; go 2.7 miles, passing five traffic lights and turn right onto Oella Avenue (Banneker sign on corner); go 0.4 mile to park entrance on left.
Park in front of building and enter through main entrance.
