Erythrism

Well there seems to have been some discussion (uh-hum) with regards to a pair of rather red balls on the classifieds. Now everyone here seems to think they are fake. Personally I've never seen a dyed snake but I have to wonder how you'd manage to colour every part of the snake as evenly as the pics show.



Now whilst doing fieldwork in the Dominican Republic I came across many erythristic Epicrates striatus. They really remind me of the red balls. I mean we all know what a normal striatus looks like, but believe me, you'd die (no pun intended) if you saw the reds and oranges shown in some striatus out there.



Here's one as food for thought. And there was no Gatorade in sight!
