I second the soaking.

Where in Burmese range is the humidity 50%? It is usually much higher, and the ground is often damp, meaning moiture loss from snakes is nil. You need to approximate that. What you are seeing with the hard urates is a snake that is dehydrated. A bowl of water doesn't always cut it just by itself. The snake is losing moisture to the ambient air, and heat lamps accelerate that. (OK to use heat lamps, just soak snake to offset for moisture loss).
