The screen top allows warm humid air to rise out of the tank. Cool and very dry room air will fall into the tank replacing the warm humid air. People recognize that the cage is cold because of this flue effect and compound the problem by applying more heat to the cage. Rather than increasing the heat they should limit the loss of warm humid air. These snakes do well in cages with very limited ventilation. [ Hide Replies ]
