The simple answer is yes you will need to breed them to "prove" them out but for the biggest part people who sell you 100% hets will send you or supply you with paperwork attesting to their pedegree as to being 100% and some are said to be 66 and 50% het for one thing or another. Occasionally you will get what they call markers which are traits some hets carry but not always and even if you see "a trait" in a snake it does not prove that the snake is het for anything.. Some of the more identifiable markers or traits to a het I believe are found with the het Pieds. They seem to very often have a pretty good little line of black scales on the last 1/3 or 1/4 of their bodies on each side right where the sides go under to the belly running lenght wise along that area.
