As Joyhe said, it depends on your setup-with mine I probably don't need to check them at all, but I do so every couple of weeks or so, just in case an egg has gone bad and needs to be removed.
I try to get those females eating as soon as possible after laying-most within a week. I figure a female needs 30 or more decent meals before her next breeding season, so the sooner she eats, the better. ----- Brad Chambers
