I would say she was in pain. Did the vet actually examine her at all or just told you to give antibiotics over the phone? Not sure I like the idea of a vet prescribing treatment without examining the snake himself.
Anyway, that aside, how long ago was she bit? if it was just a day or two ago, the fact she's settling down probably is a good sign. Make sure she stays well hydrated and leave her be for a few days, just disturb her to refill her water dish and check for swelling or other symptoms. Avoid stressing her. After a week or so, check her month to see if there is any sign of infection and if the wound is healing.
I suggest once she's fully recovered and ready to eat again, stun prey first and offer while still twitching...this may work better, less chance of her getting bit, and the prey isn't 'dead'. Its very possible she may not want to eat any live prey for awhile. ----- PHLdyPayne
